Nigro Philippe Philippe Nigro was born in 1975 in Nice, France. After earning a High School Diploma in Applied Arts, he took a diploma in Industrial Design in Lyons and, in 1996, with C. Gardet won the competition for the Chaumont-sur-Loire Gardens for the Ailleurs experimental garden. After also winning the Habitat competition for the Flac lamp, in 1997 he earned the Higher Diploma in Applied Arts in Industrial and Interior Design at École Boulle in Paris. Since 1999, he has collaborated in Italy with Studio De Lucchi, following up design and furniture projects for Olivetti, Compaq, Siemens, Poltrona Frau, Artemide, Coromandel, Danese, Alias, Caimi, Banca Intesa, Produzione Privata, Unifor, Hera, Interni, Design Gallery, Feg, Colombo and Listone Giordano. His Vega and Vertigo divan projects in 2004 were manufactured by Nube and the following year saw his Spiral shelves produced for “Aides à projet VIA 2005″. In 2006, he designed, with De Lucchi, Sarissa and Tatlin for Artemide; in 2007, he designed the Twist armchair for Felicerossi; in 2008, with M. Biffi, he won the second award in the “Lo spirito di Stella / Autogrill” competition. For “Aides à projet VIA 2008″, he developed the Intersection divan system and for the Gate-08 group exhibition he designed Market: a fruit basket in Carrara marble. In 2009, he designed the Confluences family for Ligne Roset, another variation of the Intersection divans, and for VIA developed the universal leg for Trèteaux tables and Twin-Chairs. |
